Finance Manager

This is a broad, hands-on leadership role encompassing financial control, reporting, forecasting, budgeting, audit, and commercial finance. The successful candidate will partner closely with operational and commercial teams to drive performance, ensure robust financial governance, and support strategic decision-making.
The role requires a strong technical accountant with proven construction or project-based finance experience, coupled with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Control: Lead monthly close, management accounts, variance analysis, and statutory reporting.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Own annual budget and rolling forecasts including scenario modelling.
Commercial Finance: Provide project-level financial oversight, margin analysis, and support tendering/pricing decisions.
Cash Flow Management: Oversee weekly/monthly cash flow forecasting and working capital optimisation.
Audit & Compliance: Manage external audit and ensure compliance with taxation and regulatory requirements.
Process Improvement: Drive system and reporting improvements and enhance financial processes.
Leadership: Build and develop a high-performing finance function.
Strategic Contribution: Act as a key advisor to leadership on financial and operational performance.
Adhere to and maintain compliance with all Health and Safety procedures within your work.
Requirements:
CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified Accountant with 8+ years PQE
Experience in Construction industry highly beneficial
Excellent analytical with a high standard of numerical skills.
Strong understanding of project accounting, revenue recognition, and WIP
Proficiency in accounting software
Broad knowledge of accounting principles
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Assertive (ability to ensure controls are followed).
Energetic with positive can-do attitude. Ability to identify and drive change.
Proactive, solutions-driven, and accountable .
