Traffic Management Operative

Responsibilities:
- Adhere to and maintain compliance with all Health and Safety procedures within your work. Ensuring you are responsible for yourself and/or team members who report into you
- Survey & plan the traffic management layout required for the required site works
- Complete site risk assessments, carry out regular site checks and make relevant equipment adjustments as required based on site conditions and requests from the client or general public
- Install, maintain and remove temporary traffic management equipment as per chapter 8 requirements and provided Traffic Management Plans
- Carry out “Stop & Go” activities, setup temporary traffic light systems, manage pedestrian walkways and road closures as required
- Ensure a safe working environment is maintained for crews, pedestrians and road users while working on footpaths & roadways
- Safety load and unload Traffic Management equipment from vehicles at our yard and site locations
- Comply with all of Actavo’s safe working policies and procedures
- Ensure PPE & Equipment is in good working order and use as prescribed
- Represent Actavo and our clients in a positive and professional manner and manage public queries in an efficient and effective way
Requirements:
- SLG
- Safe Pass
- Manual Handling
- Driving license
- Minimum 1 year’s onsite traffic management experience
- Ability to understand site maps and following written and spoken guidelines
- Ability to use mobile devices and Apps for managing & documenting works
- Excellent communication skills and able to operate a 2-way radio system
- Class B driving license for driving company vehicles
- Strong communication skills in English and confident communicating with peopl
- A team player, happy to support other members of the team and work well in a small fast-paced team is essential
- A good level of written and spoken English is required
- The ability to organise your own workload and deal with conflicting priorities, while ensuring timelines are met even at short notice
- Flexible working hours and ability to work evenings and weekends as requested
- Comfortable to work outdoors for extended periods of time
